Kazuo Ishiguro krijgt Nobelprijs voor Literatuur 2017

Zoals altijd zijn ze in Zweden kort van stof als het gaat om de onderbouwing van hun keuze. Dit is het hele persbericht:

The Nobel Prize in Literature for 2017 is awarded to the English author Kazuo Ishiguro “who, in novels of great emotional force, has uncovered the abyss beneath our illusory sense of connection with the world”.

Sara Danius maakt bekend op 14.40 en licht toe vanaf 22.50. Ze zegt onder andere:

‘I would say: if you mix Jane Austen and Franz Kafka, then you have Kazuo Ishiguro in a nutshell. But we have to add a little bit of Marcel Proust into the mix and then you stir but not too much and then you have his writings (…)’
